Uncle Jesse

Chevy 3600 1947

” Uncle Jesse” Frame off build,1947 Chevy 3600 3 window Shop truck/Resto Mod

Brand new build just completed, 3 window long bed truck. This truck was found on a Farm in Kansas and just brought back to life after sitting since 1970. Original Patina and sheet metal as truck was super solid from Kansas and didn’t really need much metal work. What makes this truck a bit different is that we choose to leave it a longbed since everyone has shortbeds. We kinda wanted to prove we could make a killer looking long bed and I think we succeeded.

We did a complete S-10 chassis swap with the Code 504 Kit, so basically the body is the only thing left of the original truck and everything else has been updated to newer modern technology. Low Mileage Vortec 5.3 LS swap, 4l60 automatic overdrive transmission, power steering, power Front disc brakes, 2″ drop spindles and lowering springs in the rear with new color matched smoothie wheels and Coker wide white tires give this truck the perfect stance. Matching the stance with a mean exhaust note are shorty headers, custom cold air intake and dual exhaust with Flowmaster style mufflers. We replaced all wiring with brand new LS aftermarket harness as well as a new body harness. Cooling the truck is a brand new Champion radiator and electric fan that keeps the truck nice and cool in the heat of summer. We finished off the engine compartment by shaving the firewall, custom valve and intake covers, painting the accessories and cleaning up the engine to make it look like it was installed from the factory. All exterior chrome was replaced (bumpers, mirrors, emblems, headlight rings) with brand new parts. The bed also received new wheel tubs, new red oak bed wood and bed strips. All headlights, turn signals, etc are all new as well.

Turning our attention to the interior(since this is where you spend most of your time), we replaced all the glass, installed newer Chevy split bench seat and recovered it, door panels, door seals, headliner, kick panels, sound/heat deadener on the floor, carpet, painted the entire cab, chrome tilt column, Lokar floor shifter, Dolphin gauges, Budnick steering wheel, Vintage Air AC and heat, Classic Radio with Bluetooth and 4 speakers, the list goes on and on. Truck rides and handles like a dream but retains the old school feel of a 72 year old truck. It’s awesome to have the reliability of a modern LS motor and drive-train but retain the classic look of these older trucks. The great thing about patina is no worrying about scratches or spending your whole weekend detailing you truck, just get in and drive. The more dings and rust the more character it gives the truck. This is the oldest truck we have revived and got back on the road and probably the coolest. Be the only person in town with a 72 year old truck that no one else has.
